8/10/2017 0 Comments Day eleven- The last day :'(Today sadly was our last day in Scotland. We got up and had breakfast and did a bit of packing before closing ceremonies. At closing ceremonies we were presented: The Defying Gravity Award for breaking the laws of physics and brining thirty plays all performed in a random order. Then after lunch we went shopping for hours!!! It was nice to get a few trinkets. We had dinner at an Indian buffet and then just decided to explore parts of the city we hadn't been before. We stumbled upon some more gorgeous parts of the city. Then at 10:30, the boys and I went to a sketch comedy show. The group is called Aunty Donna, and they performed "Big Boys" ;it was AMAZING! I couldn't stop laughing. It was 16+ so I was the youngest one there! It made for a great experience. Enjoy a photo of Miles and Sean being cute and Lydia, Eliza, and I enjoining our new sweatshirts.

8/9/2017 0 Comments Day ten- Closing the show :(This morning the boyz and I got up and went for a hike. We finally made it to the top of Arthur's Seat. It was beautiful, and we ate lunch up there. The girls did not join, but I bet they had a good time as well. When we got back it was time to prepare for our final show here. We had a great run, and this experience has been amazing. I have really enjoyed every performance, and I am so proud of my school. Then some of us went to a park with some kids from Robinson, while others went back to the dorm and chilled (I went to the park.) After dinner, we went to the military tattoo which is a concert in a huge stadium. Military bands from around the world play at this huge and beautiful event. It lead to a late night though! Enjoy a photo of us most of the way up the mountain and of us with the head of tech.
--Marlaina H. 8/8/2017 0 Comments day nine- a chill dayToday we decided to take it a bit easier since we were all pretty exhausted from the trip so far. We slept in and then saw: Somebody Catch my Homework. It was an adorable and refreshing children's show. Then we came back to the dorms ate lunch and prepared for our show. We then headed to the royal mile and did a little bit more publicizing of our show. Then we performed a 5:45 show. We all went out for nice Italian dinner after. We enjoyed a relaxing meal and now it's time to crash! Enjoy these photos created during dinner.
--Marlaina H. 8/7/2017 0 Comments Day nine- The tourToday was a really long day!! It started with early breakfast and a tour that started at 9:00. We bused up to the town of Saint Andrews and were allowed to explore around the town. We ate lunch on these beautiful rocks that over looked the beach. The sand was the softest I have ever felt, but it was really cold!! We took lots of pictures there!! Next we went to Falkland castle with the tour. We sadly couldn't take pictures there, but it was very beautiful. Then we had dinner and went and saw the Tempest. No twist, just pure Shakespeare! It was great! That ends at 10:45 so it was quite a long day!! Enjoy pictures of us on the cliffs!!
8/6/2017 0 Comments Day eight- More showsToday we started by seeing West Potomac’s Rock of Ages. It was a super fun and well-done show! Then we wandered into a place for lunch which turned out to be slightly American themed. It was kind of funny! Then we were lucky enough to get tickets into this amazing show that was just finished on Wednesday. It was about two serial killers who fell in love. The story, music, set, and script were amazing. It was called Buried! And I am so glad to have seen it. We then publicized our show for 30 minutes before dinner. Then after dinner we performed our show again. AND WE SOLD OUT!! It was awesome to have such a huge crowd! Enjoy a photo of the queue 20 minutes before tickets when on sale!
--Marlaina H. 8/5/2017 0 Comments Day seven- Opening the showSo today was our opening night! We opened at 11:45 am and it was amazing! There was a huge crowed which was so alive!! It went awesome. Then we had lunch and did some shopping before an early dinner. At 5:30 we went and saw The Birds. It was a great ancient Greek show! Then we went back to the dorms; some of us went and played ultimate Frisbee in a park with some Robson kids. Super fun day!
--Marlaina H. 8/4/2017 0 Comments Day six- PublicityToday was a day full of publicity. This morning we went and saw Three Musketeers, and then after we went back to the dorms for lunch. Then we went back to the Royal Mile to publicize our show and do a bit of shopping. Next, we got to perform 20 minutes of our hour long show on a small stage which was on the Royal mile. After our performance, we publicized more in the pouring rain! We felt successful though! We want butts in seats so the more we do the better! Finally, we had dinner and called it an early night. The boys have decided to go on another hike though! I am glad to get some sleep because tomorrow we open the show!!! Sadly, we really didn’t get any good picture today, but here a photo of the official performance passes we have received!
--Marlaina Horewitz 8/3/2017 0 Comments Day five- seeing some showsLong day today as well. It seems to be a theme. We started the day with a hike. We also discovered what stinging nettles look like since 7 of us, including me, got stung! Don’t worry we are all fine; it doesn’t really hurt. We decided that if we went back up there we would all wear gloves! :) Then we saw a Korean dance and play thing that was really cool and powerful. Even though it was in Korean, I was able to get meaning out of the story! Then we grabbed lunch and saw a one-man show called: Show up. It was a hilarious improv show, and the actor gave us a talk back after. After some dinner, we went to our tech rehearsal and got our official performer’s passes! I feel so official! I get to wear it on a lanyard. I can’t wait to open the show! Enjoy the views of Arthur’s seat (the hike) and us looking cute in our show shirts!
--Marlaina H. Crazy day today! Right after breakfast we went to explore the royal mile and did a bit of publicizing for our show! Then we went to eat lunch at this really cool place called Frankenstein! Then we visited the history filled Edinburgh castle! It was absolutely beautiful. Then we did a bit of shopping and went to a museum about ancient Egypt! We had dinner back at the dorms and had a dress rehearsal in front of West Potomac High school. Phew! What a day. Enjoy pictures of us at the castle and a couple of us out in the rain of Scotland!!
--Marlaina Horewitz 8/1/2017 0 Comments Day Three- Scotland!Today was an early, but less eventful day! We left the hotel at 6:30 am and got on buses to Scotland. With ten hours of traveling we listened to music and slept a lot! The rooms here are HUGE! We also get to have a room to ourselves! The sounds of bag pipes can be heard throughout all of University of Edinburgh We unpacked and had dinner, and then prepared for something which will be discussed in a future blog! ;) Please enjoy some of the few pictures I took from today!
